Tomb Raider trilogy arranged from best to worst

size

 Tomb Raider trilogy is undoubtedly one of the funniest icons in the gaming world. Inspired by the Indiana Jones series and Egyptian cemeteries, the series began with Tomb Raider 1 in 1996 on PlayStation 1 and MS-DOS operating systems. The game impressed many with its puzzles, stage design, and good battles by the standards of its time.

Because of the success of the first part of the game, the parts of the game rolled one by one from 1997 (part two) to 2008 (underworld part), and then the game stopped until 2012 and we thought that the legacy of the great series ended up with a strong return, the rebuilt version, and then two more parts to complete the Tomb Raider trilogy.

In 2013 we saw the return of our series heroine, Lara Croft, in a completely different dress from what we used to do. Crystal Dynamics Studio (Tomb Raider: Legend 2006) decided to return differently and present a human aspect of Lara Croft's character when he announced the game in 2010. As promised by the studio, the game was superbly released and surpassed previous versions in March 2013. Because of the game's tremendous success and sales that crossed the 8 million-copy barrier, we saw two more versions in 2015 as Rising of the Tomb Raider, and the 2013 version as Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Because of the great surprise that Epic Games gave us when it decided to give us the full Tomb Raider trilogy for free (the show ends on January 6th), we decided to review the three parts and arrange them from the best to the worst.

Tomb Raider (2013)

From the development of Crystal Dynamics and the publication of Square Enix, we have seen the series return.

On a stormy day, Lara Croft set off on an expedition to Yamato Island in the pacific ocean to search for Himiko Hemiko (The Sun Queen), but the wind runs unlikable and drifts to Dragon's Triangle or Bermuda Triangle to crash and its crew miraculously survives and our heroine faces a harsh atmosphere that must be surpassed to survive, so what awaits her?

What distinguishes this part and goes on the rest of my humble point of view is the story and its beginning that captivated us with it from the very first moment; To survive, you have to look for a bow and spears and start hunting deer, blood and fun fights that we've always waited for in the previous parts that we've finally got.

The style of play surprised us all over 12 hours (the duration of the original story), between the limitations set by the developers and the freedom of the semi-open game world, which took the form of Sandbox, we enjoyed the Gym Play a lot like puzzles that did not live up to the greatness of the previous parts by the way, but were fairly good.

 Rise Of The Tomb Raider (2015)

We're on the cusp of a new adventure with the second part of the tomb raider trilogy, which many prefer over the other two parts.

We complete the story with the emotional part of Lara's character, her rejection of the fact of her father's death, and her search for the same secret he was looking for before his death associated with a Siberian city, and from a personal perspective, I believe that this journey is nothing but self-affirmation for our heroine.

As a third perspective game full of adventure, the second part of the series excels, whether at the level of style of play, the diversity of environments, or as a general experience, but there is something familiar!

Personally, I preferred the first part because of his story, the vast space of its presentation, and the new style of play that we saw for the first time and with this quality, but here, the second part focused on the character and its human side more, interested in many details at the expense of the story itself, and even the style of play we found duplicated;

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider (2018)

The third and final part of the series chronicles Lara Croft's adventures in South America after she has matured and gained the experience to pursue the organization that killed her father. Our heroine got to know a lot of friends and killed enough enemies. I became a little harsh and selfish because of what she had suffered in the previous two parts.

The third part was characterized by some special dialogues, especially the interaction between Lara and Jonah's character, we saw a variety and a smooth transition from the Siberian environment in the past to the forested South American environment, not to mention the graphics and soundtracks that characterized this part, as well as the gameplay and the story, the game fooled us all!

The story of the game and the narrative were great only at first, but as we progressed, we discovered that the story lacked a lot of fights, and some problems with the writing and refined style of play became clear to us. This may be due to the failure of the new developer studio, Edus Montreal, by the way, having been assigned the task of development instead of Crystal Dynamics, and despite all the other features, the tomb raider trilogy cannot give us an integrated experience without its court story.
