Uncharted fun is like no other, but what is the best Uncharted version really?
When we talk about PlayStation platforms, many names like God of War, Last of Us, Horizon, and more often come to mind. One of the most important names, however, may be Uncharted, sony's most exclusive action and thriller series.
Over the past 15 years, the Uncharted series has been able to deliver an excellent game behind another non-stop, with a superb quartet and two subsections, all of which have received ratings of more than 80% via Metacritic. It's definitely one of the most important PlayStation series of our time, and the computer players will be able to test the latest two games very soon.
Although we want to sit down and talk about Nathan Drake's glories all day long, we are here today to classify the parts of the game from the weakest to the strongest in our opinion, which is as follows:
6- Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
greatness of small beginnings. That famous phrase in the series applies perfectly to the first version of the Uncharted series, from which we didn't know what to expect. Led by a distinguished team of Naughty Dog developers known for the crash and Jak games, this game has had a major impact by putting the studio at the forefront of global developers and has shown us its ability to design a real adventure game with distinctive storytelling and dialogue.
Although the first part lacked many of the magical touches that characterize the series and its characters, Nolan North presented us as the commando and funny hero Nathan Drake to mark the beginning of his transformation into one of the best characters in the gaming world ever. Unfortunately, this version is the weakest in terms of gameplay style and diversification in environments and enemies, and some sections are not much fun, but Drake's Fortune is still a very good game.
5- Uncharted: Golden Abyss
The PS Vita platform version enables a revolutionary shift for mobile games. Before Snapdragon processors were accessible to everyone, we used to measure the power of mobile gameplay via PS Vita and 3DS, and Golden Abyss was a "golden" standard for Sony's portable platform capability, bringing closer graphics to the PS3 at your fingertips.
As a sub-release in the Uncharted series, Golden Abyss is doing well as a side adventure for our hero Nathan Drake in catching a new treasure with the return of several beloved characters such as Sully and the wonderful and funny dialogues we're used to from the series. Nothing really special about the style of play, it's the usual style of adventure and shooting games, but it does the purpose.
4- Uncharted: Lost Legacy
The release of Lost Legacy may be one of the most important for the future of the series, as it has been seen that Uncharted does not necessarily need its commando hero to succeed. Nathan Drake is totally absent here, with the chance to shine for our female heroines Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross, who are on a new adventure to Chloe's hometown India in search of a new mystery in the story.
Ultra-beautiful graphics, stunning lyrical environments, a great style of play filled with action moments, and greater freedom to roam and explore make Lost Legacy bigger than just a sub-version, to live up to the best action games of the last generation of platforms. Dialogues between characters are great as usual, but the main story may not reach uncharted 4 and Nate's absence still has a tangible impact, losing the game a little bit of the charm of the original parts.
3- Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception
If you've already played Uncharted 3, you still remember those crazy shots that saw Drake swing from the back of the plane after fighting dozens of enemies, then landing hundreds of feet in the air in the middle of the lost Arabian desert in his search for a return.
The only drawback of the third version of the series is its arrival after Uncharted 2, and nothing else. Cinematical shots, PS3's most dazzling graphics, excellent gameplay style and diversification in environments, and a story and dialogues that match the best Hollywood movies. All here, to be one of the best Naughty Dog studios have ever given us.
